Fruit Leather

A healthy alternative to the traditional fruit roll-up. Kid tested and kid approved!


  • 1lb Fresh Fruit (Strawberries, etc.)
  • 1/4 cup Agave Nectar


Step 1
Preheat oven to lowest temperature setting. This is usually around 170 degrees.
Step 2
Wash and dry fruit. Remove any stems, leaves or skin. (TIP: You can mix and match 1lb. of fruit to create your own unique flavors - Strawberry-Banana, Mango-Kiwi, Blueberry-Raspberry, Apple-Peach)
Step 3
Add fruit and agave nectar to blender. Blend until smooth.
Step 4
Line 2 jelly roll pans with parchment paper and lightly butter. (TIP: Do NOT use spray oil! You MUST use butter! Also, only use parchment paper, do not use wax paper.)
Step 5
Pour blended fruit mixture onto parchment paper and spread out until even.
Step 6
Place in oven for 8-12 hours. (TIP: If you have a convection oven, use that setting as it will greatly reduce the amount of time required to dry out. It only took 6 hours when we used the convection setting.) The length of time required to dry out depends on how much moisture is in the fruit. You don't want to "cook" it just dehydrate it a bit.
Step 7
Once dry, (it should still be a little bit "tacky" but not completely dried out and crumbly), remove from oven and allow to cool.
Step 8
Once cool, cut strips using a scissors or kitchen shears. Use a pencil to roll the strips up. Store in an air tight container.
