I love making gifts. I love giving gifts. I love seeing the smile on someone’s face when they open it. I want my children to know this same feeling. In a world where a “sense of entitlement” seems to be increasingly more common, I’m trying harder than ever to teach my children the opposite. I don’t believe the world “owes” us something; I believe WE owe the world something. Our mark on humanity should be that we made the world a better place, we spread love and laughter, and we showed kindness and compassion to our fellow human beings.
Ok, that got really deep, really fast for a post about reindeer noses. And I didn’t even spike my coffee with Bailey’s today! Whew. (Just kidding, I don’t spike my coffee with booze…usually. Ha!)
Last week, I shared our Candy Cane Cocoa for Classmates idea with you (we actually did this last year for their classes). Here’s another fun idea that my kids and I made last night: Reindeer Noses. It’s just too cute not to share! They had a ton of fun stuffing the bags and naming off Santa’s reindeer (well, after the typical moans and groans that they had to do something…all the more reason for teaching them this lesson of giving! Am I right, or am I right?!).

So here’s to inspiring a sense of giving in our children. It doesn’t have to be a lot or be expensive, just a small gesture of good will. Cheers!
